Intelligence, Informatics and Infrastructure is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal, published three times a year (tri-annual), that publishes research on the development, validation, and real-world implementation of artificial intelligence, data science, sensing, robotics, digital twins, and informatics for civil engineering and infrastructure systems.
Scope
The journal welcomes studies that advance the planning, design, construction, inspection, maintenance, management, resilience, and operation of infrastructure — including transportation, urban systems, disaster prevention, environmental systems, and energy-related infrastructure. We solicit contributions spanning fundamental research and development, education, surveys and testing, and practical implementation, and we give particular weight to innovation, future potential, scientific validity, and social relevance.
Out of Scope
Manuscripts that apply AI or data-science methods without a clear connection to civil engineering, infrastructure systems, or the built environment are generally outside the scope of the journal and may be declined without external review.
Article Types
- 1Original Paper
Theoretical or experimental research presenting new findings and significant contributions.
- 2Review Paper
Comprehensive surveys summarising the current status and future directions of a topic.
- 3Technical Paper
Practical applications, case studies, and implementation reports in civil engineering.
Invited papers and translated / secondary publications are also considered; see For Authors.
Digital Archiving
To ensure long-term preservation and accessibility, all articles are hosted on J-STAGE, preserved for the long term in Portico, assigned DOIs, and delivered in full-text JATS XML, HTML, and PDF. See Indexing & Archiving.
